Date Reminder

Horst Schaeffer’s Date Reminder works like this: pick a date, choose if you want the reminder to repeat every X days, weeks, months or years, select if you want to be notified in advance, pick a notification sound, and then click OK to create the reminder. You could set it up so that Date Reminder will notify you about your spouse’s birthday 3 days in advance, giving you more than enough time to go and pick out a gift.

Getting started with Date Reminder will take but a moment, mainly because this application is portable and does not need to be installed. To get Date Reminder up and running on your Windows PC, you will have to download an archive, extract its contents, and then run Reminder.exe.

The main panel on Date Reminder’s interface lists all your reminders. Above this main panel there’s a toolbar with buttons for various features and functions: list alerts only, create new reminder, edit an existing reminder, delete a reminder, access the Find function, view the calendar, and more.

Let’s say that you’re a bit on the forgetful side and you can never remember your wife’s birthday (it can’t be just me, right?) You can use Date Reminder to set up a reminder that will be repeated every year on her birthday. Better still, you can set it up so that you will be reminded several days in advance, giving you more than enough time to buy her a lovely present so you don’t end up sleeping on that uncomfortable sofa again.
